Summer Wedding Tips That Actually Matter
Dreamy golden hours, long evenings, Aperol spritz in hand-it’s a vibe. But sunshine also brings its own set of challenges (hello, melting makeup and thirsty guests). Whether you're hosting a countryside marquee celebration or a chic city rooftop do, a little prep goes a long way in keeping everyone cool, comfortable, and loving every second.
Shade is essential
It might sound obvious, but you'd be surprised how easily it’s overlooked. Whether it’s parasols, stretch tents, trees, or handheld fans- some form of shade is a must. Think stylish and functional: parasols that double as photo props, or fans that actually work.
2. Adjust your timeline to start later
Midday heat and direct sun don’t pair well with make-up, photos, or guest comfort. An afternoon ceremony (think 2:00pm onwards) gives everyone a chance to ease into the day-and keeps things a little cooler. Consider a longer drinks reception for guests to enjoy the weather and maybe even a later first dance when it gets a little darker.
3. Hydration Stations Are Your Best Friend
Keep guests cool with fruit-infused water- think lemon, cucumber or mint. There’s nothing worse than queuing for water, so make it easy-access and self-serve. Simple, refreshing, and looks good too.
4. Make-Up Touch Ups Are a Must
Especially for brides and wedding party. Have a little kit on hand with powder, blotting paper, and a fan. If you have a planner or coordinator, we’ll usually carry these too.
5. Bathroom Boxes Are a Must
Bathroom boxes with deodorant, sun cream & all the little bits your guests will thank you for later are a lifesaver.
